No lack of enthusiasm at the start of day two of our trip. (Check part I here.) Too bad my feet weren’t feeling the same way. I suppose 4 blisters can do that to a person. Anyway, like that was gonna stop us.

LONDON BRIDGE | TOWER BRIDGE | TOWER OF LONDON

We started our day by taking the subway tube towards the London Bridge. From there on, we walked over the bridge (well duhh) to go to the Tower Bridge and to check out the Tower of London. We also had a nice walk alongside the Thames. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. Less busy and loud than I remember from my previous visits. I suppose the cold temperatures and the fact that it was a week day had something to do with that. Or we smelled. Like really bad.

HOTSPOT: ABSOLUTELY STARVING BREAKFAST, BRUNCH AND LUNCH

While heading back to the subway, we came across a breakfast/brunch spot at 51 Tooley Street called Absolutely Starving. A perfect description of our tummies’ state at the time. Seeing the pictures below, I think it’s pretty much impossible not to go inside. Even if you just ate… What do you think?

THE BIG BEN | THE LONDON EYE

After breakfast and patching up my blister with some band-aid (I came prepared!), we went all the way back to Westminster. Thank god for public transportation being absolutely awesome in London! Near Westminster you can find The Big Ben (seriously, not as big as I remembered but still pretty as hell) and The London Eye.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE | OXFORD STREET

The original plan was to also see Buckingham Palace, but we were both feeling half dead and we both had seen it before. Saving our last energy to check out Oxford Street it was. Some shopping, Primark and Topshop hunting and watching street style passing by.

HOTSPOT: DAISY GREEN

When our time was almost up, we decided to have a late lunch before going back to the train station. We discovered a cool spot via the TripAdvisor’s app at the corner of New Quebec Street and Seymour Street called Daisy Green. Everything is organic, fresh, homemade and healthy. Delicious smoothies, spinach wraps, fresh fruit and … an original scenery. A hidden treasure that you really have to check out when you’re in the neighborhood.

LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN | KINGS CROSS ST. PANCRAS

While waiting for the train that was going to bring us back home, we killed time by having a quick bite and a cup of hot coco. Apparently they also have a Le Pain Quotidien in the train station… Sneaky bastards. Seducing innocent, waiting people who have nowhere else to go. But uuh, how great are my bf’s heart-shaping skills?! Impressive right!

I hope you liked the pictures and the couple of hotspots I mentioned above. Either way, I’d love to hear what your favorite spot in London is. Or if you haven’t been there, what’s at the top of your must-see list? Shoot!
