One of those items most of us don’t wear that often but when you do, you’ll definitely stand out. Now at least. A leather skirt can be a league on its own. Not that easy to combine, but it can look so great when you find that perfect combo. That being said: A warned person is worth two, so be careful. Think about the look and feel that you want to create upfront, because if you don’t, chances are big the whole package will look tacky.
For instance, make sure your leather skirt (or any other leather clothing piece for that matter) looks high quality. Many stores have leather items that look plastic. An absolute no. Also combine it with neutral or soft pieces so that the leather piece pops out, and the whole outfit stays classy. The same goes for your make-up.
Balance is key!
And remember, you either show your legs or your cleavage. Not both. Leave something to the imagination, ladies.
To follow my own advice, I went for a high waist leather skirt that has normal fabric to the sides of it. This already makes the skirt look softer on it’s own. I combined it with a black & white striped blouse and a cute black jacket. My La Strada boots with studs totally work for this outfit, to make it a bit more rock-‘n-roll. For a more everyday look, I would combine with casual sneakers.
Let’s say you’re drunk a little and dive into your closet. Allow me to give an example of what a misser would look like: Leather mini skirt, combined with very high (above the knee) leather boots, a bustier top above the bellybutton with glitter and lacing, a short jacket covered with studs and an overdose of jewelry. Only a few celebrities can pull that off.
