Meet Forever Red, the baby brother of Forever Pink and part of the Just Kissed lip and cheek stain family. Those who have read my previous jane reviews know that I’m a big fan of Forever Pink. It really makes my face light up and finishes my make-up look every time. Uhu, it lights up my face. (You’re hearing it right; talking about a lipstick, not a highlighter. ^^)

With Christmas just around the corner, I really wanted to give baby brother a chance as well. Forever Red just sounds fitting with the upcoming holidays, not? Plus, I admit, I was extremely curious to give it a try to see the result. So last weekend I headed to Claudine of Pomerans, the same lady who helped me so well with my products last time.

FIRST IMPRESSION

Packaging-wise it’s just as beautiful, elegant and clean as the packaging of all other shades. The tube itself is easy to open and it closes perfectly. Not unimportant as you can have lipsticks that stop closing well after a while. If that is the case, it’s only a matter of time before you find your lipstick back in pieces. Always painful. Especially when that happens in your favorite purse. Luckily, those worries end with these babies. ^^

Just to easily recognize which one you’re holding if you have multiple shades. Now, I often find myself in the following situation: opening that one I didn’t plan on using. It’s like when you want to plug in your phone charger, always wrong the first time. ^^ Yeah, that kind of situation.

THE COMPARISON

Obviously the main difference between Forever Pink and Forever Red is the color you get from it. The way they work however remains the same. They both use natural ingredients to enhance your natural color. Meaning, the color result I have isn’t necessarily the result you would get. Either way, you can be sure that it will match your skin undertone!

Also important, if you think of lipstick, you think of the horrible possibility of dry lips. At least I do. Or maybe I should say: I used to do. I was pretty confident this one wouldn’t disappoint me in the hydration department, but to be 100% sure, I just had to try it for a couple of days. And nope, the olive and avocado oils soothe and soften my lips, while the rose flower wax and beeswax nourishes and moisturizes them. Result: my lips looking at their best: nicely colored, perfectly moisturized and Christmas proof!

CONCLUSION

Aside from the color label at the bottom, I really can’t say anything bad about Forever Red. I can easily get through a working day without re-applying this product and it candle handle kisses, drinks and food. On top of that, you get a whole lot of product which works amazing and does what it promises: long-lasting, custom colored lips that are being nourished and taken care of. A winner!

If I prefer it over my Forever Pink? Not completely. Red always exudes more sexiness and confidence. Or at least that’s what I think. While pink is softer and more neutral. In other words, Forever Pink will stay my everyday go-to shade while the Forever Red just earned its spot for all those blogger events and special occasions. Christmas here I come! ^^
