Oh boy oh boy, what an amazing holiday we had. 8 days in the Dominican Republic and we feel like reborn. We stayed in Punta Cana, an area best known for its amazing endless beaches with palm trees every 5 steps, and water so blue it looks unreal.
As a sidenote (and this wasn’t in any brochure I must add): for almost every palm tree on the island, there’s one bootylicious chica walking around wearing a mini tiny thong, as it turns out. (Exaggerated for effect, I admit. But ladies, you’ve been warned.)
We decided to enjoy this trip without internet whatsoever, so I couldn’t post any pics. But not to worry, it took me all night and afternoon (hurray, jetlag!) but I managed to wrestle myself through about 15000 (!) photos. Nope I didn’t add an extra zero by accident. (Thanks a lot, GoPro.)

During our stay, I also challenged AND conquered one of my biggest fears! Uhu – during my holiday! *Say whaaat*
What is that thing that frightens me you ask? Diving … well more like the ocean in general. You know, no air, the enormity of it, salt in your eyes so you can’t see, fish sucking your toes, the mysterie of it all. Oh and sharks. Those too.
To get used to the entire thing we started with snorkelling. First in the pool, then at sea. And I do mean lots of snorkeling. Till our skin looked like an overripe plum you don’t dare to touch anymore. Minus the hair.
After lots of practice, it was finally time to go diving in Bàvaro. I was literally too scared to pee my pants. (And I really needed to go.) And for a second I was searching for the closest boat or beach to swim to. But I stayed put and decided to be a big girl. *proud lady*.
Stay tuned for part two. Because that one will have the most dreamy pics I ever took in my life!
