No, that wasn’t a sneeze. And let me save you the trouble from googling: ‘hyvää syntymäpäivää‘ means ‘happy birthday’ in Finnish. You guessed it, this weekend I could blow out 23 candles. Yay me!

All nice and dandy but what’s the deal with the Finnish right? It’s quite simple. Two years ago I studied/traveled in/around Finland for about 5 months, having the best time ever. The day before my birthday I had to go back home, to Belgium. And as much I looked forward to seeing everyone back, I had a lot of mixed feelings and knew I was gonna miss it there like crazy. So now, every year around my birthday, I always get a bit nostalgic and think about those good times. Old memories aside and before I have to take out the Kleenex box, yesterday evening was time to make some new memories.

My boyfriend and I invited some friends to celebrate. Drinks, food (PIE!) and friends is all I need!. Okay, and presents are always welcome of course. Oh, and there was fireworks outside! Although that wasn’t really for me, we all pretended it was.

Looking back on the past year, I’m really thrilled that I finally made the step to launch my own blog. I’m also finally figuring out what I really want in life, and it’s the best feeling ever! That being said, I can’t wait to see what next year will bring. I’m ready to take on new challenges and experiences. And I’m ready to share them with you.

Thanks again, y’all!
