For those who have no idea what TBY is; The Big You is actually a big blogger event. One of the biggest blogger events of Belgium actually. Organised by UPR and basically a cool opportunity to get to know a lot of Belgian bloggers and discover different collections of brands that UPR represents. This year was already the fourth edition but the first I attended. Sounds fun doesn’t it?! Well … It’s not. Bazinga! It totally is!!
Now, let’s start the virtual tour so you know exactly what this day looked like.
We couldn’t have started off any better. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and although there aren’t any real diamonds in the picture below (you got me), they are shiny and beautiful. A lot of bling bling from Swarovski. They presented their new F/W collection ‘Secret Treasures‘ which we were free to try out. Big statement pieces will still be trending the upcoming season but elegant and graceful pieces just as much. Now taking them off and giving them back, that was the hard part.
Next up was one of my favorites. The Pronails stand. Everything that was standing there, was there to try out. Fun way to get to know other bloggers as you simply help each other and show off your creative nailart. I already had a dark nail polish on myself. But that’s of course no reason not to do something more with it. So I tried out the thin glittered stickers. A very simple way to add thin lines to give them that little something.
This wasn’t the only option though. Pronails has a huge range in embellishments. From stickers to velvet, glitter, studs, pearls and much more. And this all in a wide variety of colors. A true paradise for nailart lovers like myself.
After our improved mani it was time for some clothes. Zalando was part of the crew to present their new F/W collection. The collection can be described as oriental influences with a touch of rock ‘n roll. But as there is so much more to tell about this, I’ve created a separate post on the subject.
After getting our own fake tattoo at LACLAIRE, it was time to travel to London. Because Pepe Jeans is celebrating his 40th anniversary and we were invited to the party. For the occasion, Pepe Jeans designed a limited edition jeans and shirt which we could actually win, because #pepelovesbloggers. The only thing we had to do was take a funny picture using the scenery and props, and then Instagram it along with our birthday wishes.
After all this traveling, it was time for a drink. Sodastream sodas was there with MyWater flavor essences. With just a few drops, you can add a subtle taste to your water. I have to be honest though, it tasted like normal water to me. But it did had the most delicious scent. We also got to pick out two flavors to try out at home. Maybe these will be a bit stronger than the flavor I tried out at the event. Will let you know for sure!
Be amazed because I learned to knit! This nice women of Veritas showed us the basics and surprisingly enough, it’s not that difficult as it looks. I started something that should become my own beanie but then again: baby steps… Hope I’ll be able to finish it before the first snow! ;-)
Almost done, Illy was there too with a cool and original challenge. You had to write down in one word a certain event in your life that really stayed with you. I immediately though about the most amazing thing I ever did: Bungee jumping!
One of the most spectacular ones in the world you can do even. 111 meters down of a bridge in Zambia. Right at the Victoria Falls. That feeling is too crazy to describe. A mix of, *wauw, what was I thinking, ooh, aah, I’m flying, I’m gonna die, yep that’s it, I’m dead*. Really a once in a lifetime experience (no way I do that again!). ;-)
To finish the day, we could do some karaoke with Sennheiser. I don’t know about you, but I’m really a terrible singer! So this one was a big scary challenge. But as I really wanted to try this beautiful headset and not be the big pussy, I had to suck it up. So I did, ending up with a hilarious (yet very embarrassing movie) of myself ‘singing’ a funny Dutch song and doing some kind of awkward dance. Good thing these headsets are so great that I didn’t have to listen to my own voice while singing.
