Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned – I’ve been turning away from every item that even slightly resembles Fall or Winter for the last couple of weeks. Despite the fact that the weather made it very clear it’s coming sooner this year. Until last week that is. I bought my first Fall-proof items and now I’m infected with the cozy fabric virus.
In the meantime, I’m carefully embracing the upcoming season and looking at new collections.
To prepare those who are still in a state of denial: a few of my favorite trends for FW 14/15 …
1. BLACK & WHITE AND THEIR NEW BEST FRIEND
Black and white; a classic which designers keep reinventing. Again and again. Over and over. BUT… this year they clearly made peace with their outcast friend: Misses Grey. It has been a while since I’ve seen the 3 of them play together so nicely.

2. POPS OF COLOR
Oh how I love to see pops of colors in different collections. The big winners are clearly canary yellow, hot red and cobalt/navy blue. Lucky for me, half of my closet is blue. So I got this part partially covered. BOOM! (Disclaimer: this doesn’t mean I can’t buy more! Nice try though.)
Also the pastel shades are gonna be trending next season; especially in the form of basic pieces. So find a way to make your summer pastel items F/W-proof!

Haters, be warned. This one will still last a while! And if not, I refuse to accept it. It does seem that the leather trend has evolved. Different colors – jackets, skirt of all lengths, shorts and even lingerie! Leather is taking over the season.

4. SOFT FABRICS
Probably what we love most about those cold days… soft, fluffy, knitted sweaters and coats. You name it, we want it. Make sure to get at least one of these. Because they will be your basic go to item of the season.
Free People – New Look – Pull & Bear – H&M
This season is all about straight, oversized models. And why not take advantage of the color trend and go for a bright blue or red one! Lengthwise you can even go for the very long kind. Personally not my favorite though.

Or skirts of all lengths for that matter. This fall we’re not gonna wear that many trousers. And oh how I love the midi-skirt trend! Unfortunately, I really can’t get away with it myself. So please, please wear them as much as you can so I can enjoy them when walking down the streets! Different prints (yes also tartan!) fabrics and shades… go wild.

So there you have it, me embracing the
grey rainy grainy days. A time to experiment with different prints and fabrics, a time to switch between grungy, preppy and casual. And most of all, a time to enjoy those cozy nights in an oversized fluffy sweater and thick knits with a cup of hot coco.
